Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will:
- Support the selection and specification of materials, platings and finishes for use in our products, including amongst others:
- PCB materials
- Potting materials
- Sealants and adhesives
- Magnetic materials (for transformers and inductors)
- Plastic materials
- Anti-corrosion treatments
- Participate in design reviews to assess the appropriateness of materials from various perspectives, such as:
- Corrosion effects
- Chemical compatibility
- Cost and availability
- Regulatory compliance
- Application specific requirements
- Build our capability to perform reliability analyses of solder joints in the presence of thermal and mechanical stresses
- Research, evaluate and introduce new materials into our products
- Alternative materials for higher performance or lower cost
- Novel materials for thermal management
- Materials for alternative fabrication methods
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering/Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science
- 8 or more years work experience including exposure to at least some of the following areas applied to power conversion devices and/or electronic systems:
- Plating
- Soldering
- Reliability
- Corrosion
- Electrical interconnects
- Failure Analysis
- Potting and adhesives
- Accelerated testing
- Magnetic materials
- PIM
- RoHS/WEEE
- Dielectric fluids
- Plastics
- Eager to learn new skills and improve capabilities
- Thorough and attentive to details
- Able to work with others and communicate technical issues
- Good in both verbal and written communication skills
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Dayshift
Work Setup: Onsite
