  • Identify potential changes and/or deviations to the scope then apply change management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering field of study.  Must have a valid PRC License in the applicable field.

Job Description:

The Deputy Engineer will be part of our Manila site team in delivering a prestigious marine reclamation project through construction management services. You will have the opportunity to work on local and international water and maritime projects.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will:

  • Carries out the role of the Deputy Engineer’s Representative, within the role of the Engineer under the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant & Design Build contract
  • Responsible for overall management (under the Engineer’s Representative) of all aspects of the Construction Management services, specifically but not limited to the management of the quality and progress of the dredging, reclamation, soil improvement and revetment works
  • Responsible for review and approval of all Contractor’s Documents related to the works and oversight of their implementation, including quality, safety, design (in liaison with the design office), method statements, ITPs, risk assessments, etc. 
  • Regularly present on site or on contractor(s) vessels or equipment to check the works and carries out off-site visits to quarries and other material sources, with reports to confirm material compliance
  • Reviews daily reports from the Contractor, inspectors and other third parties and takes action on any issues or concerns, suggesting solutions/mitigation as necessary
  • Ensures information flow between the technical, contract, and commercial team
  • Liaises and directly supports the leads of other disciplines (project management and contract management) to provide relevant supporting information for their tasks
  • Provides regular reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) on progress, planning, quantity, quality, risk, and potential contractual issues
