The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader of their school or faculty, guiding its strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic programs. They champion research, manage faculty and staff, and act as the primary representative of the school within the university and to external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Academic Leadership

  • Guide the design, development, and execution of academic offerings.
  • Advance teaching quality and foster curriculum innovation.
  • Support faculty in research and academic pursuits.
  • Oversee faculty recruitment, evaluation, retention, and ongoing development.
  • Ensure adherence to accreditation and academic quality standards.

Student Success

  • Drive initiatives to improve student enrollment, retention, and graduation outcomes.
  • Cultivate an inclusive, student-centered academic environment.
  • Ensure high-quality advising and support services for students.

Research and Scholarly Activities

  • Foster a strong culture of research, innovation, and creative work.
  • Attract external funding through grants and partnerships.
  • Promote interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives.

External Engagement and Advancement

  • Act as an ambassador to alumni, donors, industry, and community partners.
  • Lead fundraising and development campaigns.
  • Build and maintain strategic external collaborations.

Governance and Institutional Policy

  • Contribute to university-wide governance and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the school and senior university leadership. 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

  • You must have an advanced degree (Master’s, Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • You must have a demonstrated record of academic excellence and leadership.
  • You must have experience in academic administration and faculty oversight.
  • You must have strong strategic planning, financial management, and organizational skills.
  • You must have exceptional communication and interpersonal capabilities.
