Job Description
The QHSE Manager is responsible for the effective implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies. The role ensures strict adherence to legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards while promoting a culture of safety and risk awareness across all operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Lead the development and review of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control (HIRAC) processes to proactively manage workplace hazards. Provide guidance and training to ensure proper risk identification and control implementation.
- Conduct internal audits, inspections, and follow-up actions. Ensure timely resolution of non-compliances and support continual improvement efforts in line with ISO and other industry standards.
- Develop and maintain fire safety and emergency response plans. Coordinate testing and readiness of emergency equipment and procedures.
- Promote transparent reporting of incidents, injuries, and near misses. Lead investigations into significant events and escalate serious cases promptly. Maintain comprehensive reporting and tracking systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies. Ensure that all legal and statutory HSE requirements are consistently met through regular monitoring and policy enforcement.
- Maintain a register of dangerous substances and ensure proper COSHH assessments and handling protocols are in place and understood by all personnel.
- Foster strong communication channels with employees, contractors, and stakeholders through training sessions, committee meetings, and regular updates on safety protocols and compliance issues.
- Advise on safe procurement and use of work equipment and PPE. Ensure all users receive adequate instruction and that equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
- Set local QHSE objectives in alignment with senior management. Drive the integration of health and safety practices into daily operations and encourage a culture of safety excellence and innovation.
- Monitor environmental impacts such as emissions and odours, maintain compliance with environmental permits, and liaise with regulatory agencies regarding potential environmental risks or incidents.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- You must be certified in HIRAC methodology, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or other relevant QHSE standards. Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or similar are a plus.
- You must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a QHSE managerial or supervisory role.
- You must have proven experience in implementing and managing HIRAC frameworks.
- You must have a strong background in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.
- You must have experience working in high-risk industries such as construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or logistics (preferred).
- You must have strong knowledge of HSE legislation and compliance requirements.
- You must have excellent leadership, communication, and training skills.
- You must have the ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
- You must have strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- You must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QHSE management software.
Work Schedule: Regular shift (8am – 5pm)
Work Setup: Onsite - Alabang, Muntinlupa City
