The position is responsible for administering, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment to ensure accurate product information, configuration control, and engineering documentation management. It serves as the central point of coordination between Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and external manufacturing partners by maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change processes, and product data governance. The role supports manufacturing scalability, spare parts management, serviceability planning, and operational efficiency through effective PLM administration and cross-functional collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will:

  • Administer, configure, and maintain PLM/PDM systems, ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and user compliance.
  • Manage product release workflows, revision controls, lifecycle states, engineering change requests (ECRs), engineering change notices (ECNs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures, part numbering structures, metadata standards, and documentation governance processes.
  • Build, audit, and maintain accurate Engineering BOMs (EBOMs), Manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs), and Service BOMs to support manufacturing and aftermarket operations.
  • Translate engineering product structures into service and maintenance BOMs, spare parts catalogs, and lifecycle documentation.
  • Ensure synchronization and alignment between internal product records and manufacturing partner documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to capture design revisions, CAD updates, product releases, and configuration changes.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to ensure BOM accuracy, inventory readiness, and serviceability requirements are supported.
  • Coordinate with external manufacturing partners to validate engineering changes, product updates, and documentation consistency.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and support integration of PLM tools, document management systems, and related engineering platforms.
  • Assess operational, manufacturing, and service impacts associated with engineering and lifecycle changes.
  • Support risk management initiatives by ensuring product data accuracy, traceability, and change control compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal documentation standards, quality requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Prepare reports, audits, and data analyses related to product lifecycle management, engineering changes, and BOM integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvements in PLM processes, documentation workflows, and product data management practices.

 QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have at least 3 years of experience in PLM/PDM administration, BOM management, engineering documentation control, or a related function.
  • You must have experience working with PLM platforms such as PTC Onshape, Arena PLM, Windchill, Propel, Agile PLM, or similar systems.
  • You must have knowledge of release management, revision control, configuration management, and engineering change processes.
  • You must have strong understanding of Engineering BOMs (EBOM), Manufacturing BOMs (MBOM), Service BOMs, and spare parts management.
  • You must have experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, electronics, robotics, hardware, or related industries.
  • You must have familiarity with CAD platforms such as Onshape, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or equivalent systems.
  • You must have strong analytical skills and the ability to assess business and operational impacts of engineering changes.
  • You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners.
  • You must have strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • You must have experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • You must have working knowledge of risk management, compliance, and engineering documentation governance.
  • You must be adaptable, process-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a rapidly evolving environment.
