Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Prepare test samples and perform laboratory analyses to determine microbiological quality based on standard procedures and specifications.
- Produce accurate, timely, and reliable test results, while ensuring systematic workflow and proper prioritization of analyses.
- Prepare culture media, reagents, and sterilize required materials following validated test methods.
- Decontaminate used laboratory items, reference cultures, enriched solutions, and other contaminated materials.
- Ensure proper handling and functionality of test instruments; report any defective equipment to the immediate supervisor.
- Coordinate with supervision on test specifications and sample testing plans; calculate and interpret results.
- Promptly discuss test results and testing issues with supervisors for immediate resolution.
- Evaluate results in coordination with senior microbiologists or supervisors.
- Assist in laboratory housekeeping, environmental monitoring, and documentation submissions for approval.
- Help monitor sample disposal and maintain updated records in coordination with the senior team.
- Track and monitor inventory of lab supplies including glassware, reagents, and culture media.
- Conduct or assist in laboratory quality assurance initiatives such as method validation, measurement uncertainty, and culture preservation.
- Participate in the review and revision of Microbiology Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Submit requisitions for laboratory consumables ensuring sufficient stock for uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of laboratory data, test results, procedures, and client information.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by superiors.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- You must be a college graduate in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
- You must have at least 1–3 years of laboratory experience preferred, ideally in microbiological testing or quality control.
- You must be knowledgeable of aseptic techniques, laboratory safety, and microbiological methods.
- You must be familiar with laboratory equipment and sterile procedures.
Work Schedule: Regular shift (8:30 am – 5:30 pm)
Work Setup: Onsite, Makati City
