Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of microbiologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate testing.
- Review and approve microbiological test results, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to test protocols.
- Provide technical guidance on microbiological methods, troubleshooting, and test issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, industry standards (e.g., ISO, GMP), and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) and prioritize testing schedules to meet operational deadlines.
- Oversee preparation and quality of reagents, culture media, and other lab consumables.
- Manage equipment calibration, maintenance, and verification schedules; report and follow up on instrument issues.
- Participate in the validation, verification, and implementation of new test methods and laboratory techniques.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on product release, test planning, and investigation of non-conformities.
- Lead or support internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and corrective actions.
- Ensure laboratory safety, cleanliness, and proper housekeeping practices.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of laboratory personnel.
- Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory supplies and consumables to support continuous operations.
- Lead or participate in the review and revision of SOPs, forms, and quality documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of test results, procedures, and client data.
- Prepare and submit required reports to management and perform other supervisory duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field. Registered/licensed or with certifications preferred.
- You must have at least 3–5 years of laboratory experience in microbiological testing, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- You must have an in-depth knowledge of microbiological techniques, lab instrumentation, and quality systems (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025, GMP, GLP).
- You must have strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- You must have excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- You must be proficient in laboratory documentation, data analysis, and computer systems
Work Schedule: Regular shift (8:30 am – 5:30 pm)
Work Setup: Onsite, Makati City
